Because the safety of students, faculty, and staff is our top priority, and due to the uncertain course of events, library spaces, both at The New School and NYU, will remain closed to patrons for the Fall semester. Questions? Please chat and Ask Us!
Place requests for books in our collections. You will receive a confirmation email (to your @newschool.edu address) when your items are ready, which will include directions for how to schedule a pick up. All pick ups are by appointment only, on the 2nd floor at Arnhold Hall. [If you can't pick up your items in-person, please contact us via Ask Us (email@example.com).]
For access to copies of books also in NYU's Bobst Library, submit your request via the catalog.
The New York Public Library is offering limited curbside pick up. (See the New York Public Library's website for available resources and services)
E-ZBorrow is available.
Inter-Library Loan services are currently suspended for print materials. To see if there are alternatives, please Ask Us.
Physical reserves are not available. If you need assistance finding an electronic replacement or an alternative solution, please Ask Us.
All electronic resources remain available to our community on our website.
Scans of offsite material may still be requested through the catalog. Limited scanning is available for onsite items: Ask Us.
Inter-Library Loan requests for scans of book chapters and articles will be fulfilled whenever possible.
Faculty may use the "Book Chapter" form on the Course Reserves tab in Canvas and select "Staff Search / Scan - Please have library staff pull the material off the shelves and scan" to submit scan requests.
Library staff will continue to review all requests for electronic materials though fulfillment times have increased.
Return items by dropping them in our book returns located in the lobbies of Arnhold Hall and the University Center. Not able to make returns in person? Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to make other arrangements.
Library fines are suspended and not accruing. In addition, we’re currently not collecting payments for fines.
Library holds on transcripts or registrations due to COVID-19 related issues can be temporarily lifted to allow students to graduate and order transcripts. Please Ask Us if you need a hold lifted.
