Alumni Research Guide

Libraries

Alumni may visit New School Library locations with a valid alumni ID card. Contact Alumni Engagement to obtain your card.

Library privileges:

  • Browse and read books, periodicals, and other items in onsite library collections*
  • Computers (please be mindful of current students and limit use when people are waiting)
  • Most library databases 
  • Printing, with purchase of a printing card
  • Wifi
  • Research help via Ask Us
  • Career Development Research Guide
  • Need to return books? See our website for locations and hours as well as book drop locations. Contact us at libhelp@newschool.edu for assistance. 

Not included:

  • Borrowing books and other items
  • Library databases that are limited to current New School students and faculty**
  • Remote access to library databases. Tip: Many resources and publications offer a discounted student rate! Sign up before you graduate!
  • Access to Consortium libraries (NYU, Cooper Union, New York School of Interior Design)
  • Access for unaccompanied friends, family, or coworkers

**Alumni, if you need references in RefWorks after you graduate, be sure to export them!
