Philosophy

This is an archival repository of CARP, which was founded by three alumni of the graduate program in philosophy at the New School - Lester Embree (d.2017), Fred Kersten, and Richard Zaner. The archives include a photo album assembled by Fred Kersten, and papers of Alfred Schutz, Dorion Cairns, and Felix Kaufmann - all professors in the New School Graduate Faculty. The repository is at the University of Memphis in Tennessee.

This is the original home of the Husserl manuscripts, and contains the print materials from which copies were made, among them ours.

Oversight for this collection is currently in the hands of Dr. James Dodd, of the NSSR Philosophy Department.

Former name: Society for Continental Philosophy in a Jewish Context. Founded 2001.

This institute, founded in 1976 as the World Institute for Advanced Phenomenological Research and Learning) by Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka (1923-2014), is one of the most well-known centers for phenomenological research.
