Library Services

The New School has 3 library locations and one archives location.  Find our hours and locations on our website.

Libraries

You will need a valid, current New School ID card to enter library buildings; you do not need to swipe again to enter the library.  Borrow materials with your New School ID.  Renew books, request items, and more, when you're signed into your library account.  Assistance is available at the information desk of each library whenever the library is open. Archives 

Archives are accessed by appointment only.

Access 

The access grid on our website displays the other libraries and resources are available to you through The New School Libraries. 

Room Booking 

Book a collaboration room at the University Center or List Center Library using the "Book a Room" link on the library website.

Course Reserves

Reserves are mandatory readings that are assigned to your class.  You can find them in Canvas under the "Course Reserves" tab.

Library Technology

Laptops

IT makes laptops available to borrow throughout the university. Learn more about laptop borrowing.

Printing

Available at all 3 library locations using your university print credits.  We only offer black and white printing on 8.5" x 11" (letter-sized) paper.

Printing is also available at computer labs, classrooms, and print output centers throughout campus.

Scanning

Available at all 3 library locations.  Email or download scans for free using our easy-to-use touch-screen scanners.
