Discover Streaming Video at the Library

The New School Libraries license thousands of hours of streaming video, all of which you, as a current student, faculty, or staff member at The New School, may watch for free! This includes content that has been acquired to fill course reserve requests across the curriculum, even if you yourself are not in the course for which the video was licensed.

In this guide you will learn:

  • how to find streaming video content right in the library's discovery tool by combining filters and keyword searching
  • how to find the databases that offer video content and which ones are likely to have the movies you want to watch
  • a little bit about how films are licensed by the libraries
  • where you can find a DVD player or VCR for movies owned in that format and not available for streaming
