What is the Library Advisory Council?

The Library Advisory Council is a body of New School students, faculty, and staff which meets roughly two to three times per semester. The Council  discusses issues of resources, spaces, policies, and services that are or may be provided by The New School Libraries. Council members provide input to the Libraries representing the needs and viewpoints of The New School community. Members of the Library Advisory Council will have access to library administrators, processes, and collection development information.

Members should be able to:

  • Approach issues from a university wide perspective

  • Engage with community on issues discussed at committee meetings

  • Attend meetings regularly and/or keep abreast of minutes/discussion topics
