About

Health Sciences and Medicine

The purpose of this guide is to provide information relevant to health science and medical research at The New School. It presents general search strategies, introductions to catalogs and databases, guides to bibliographic tools, and information about other available resources, all with a particular focus on aiding research in the health sciences and medicine. It is our hope that it will be equally useful for those conducting research for the first time as it will be for veteran researchers who are interested in knowing what science resources they can expect from The New School libraries.

Relevant courses are offered primarily though the Interdisciplinary Science Studies at Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts and The New School University Thematic Interdisciplinary Program in Environmental Studies. Other areas of study, such as Anthropology in The New School for Social Research, the school of Art, Media, and Design at Parsons The New School for Design, and the Global and Public Health Curriculum that spans all divisions of The New School may also offer courses for which research in the health sciences may be necessary. This guide is designed to aid students and faculty in these programs or any others that undertake such research.
