New York City (NYC) Research Guide

Guide to researching New York City buildings, neighborhoods, history, and data.

About

This is a guide to researching New York City buildings, neighborhoods, history, and data.

When searching our library catalog and in databases, it can be helpful to brainstorm for keywords. Try broader, narrower, and related keywords. If you are researching a building, you can also try researching the neighborhood. If you're researching a neighborhood, you can also try searching for information on the borough. If there are too many results, add keywords to make your search more specific (immigration--> jewish immigration lower east side).
