Research Guides: Open Access (OA): Funding and Promotion

OA Funding

Thus far, to pay for Open Access Article Processing Charges (APCs) or Book Processing Charges (BPCs), creators have used their own research/travel or external grant funds and/or anticipated the cost in their initial budget proposal.

Creators can also inquire with the publisher if there can be fee waivers for those at institutions that don’t have supporting funds or can prove they have exhausted all available funds.

Please note: Not all Open Access publications require APCs or BPCs.
